Dunja Njaradi’s field of interest includes the anthropology of dance, traditional, artistic and social dances as well as dances in religious contexts. Dunja Njaradi has extensive teaching experience spanning multiple disciplines such as dance, drama, theatre, and anthropology. During her career, Dunja Njaradi has been the recipient of several scholarships and awards, such as the PhD scholarship in Lancaster (UK) 2007-2010 (ORS); the prestigious DanceWeb 2009 dance scholarship (ImpulzTanz, Vienna) and a fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Central European University in Budapest 2016/17 (IAS CEU). She is the author of three books: Backstage Economies: Labour and Masculinities in Contemporary European Dance, published by Chester University Press (2014); A Book on Dance. Traditions, Theories, Methods, published by the Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs of Serbia ‘Kolo’ (2018); and, Between Art and Tradition. Debates on Intangible Cultural Heritage, published by Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade (2025). Dunja Njaradi teaches ethnology, anthropology and ethnochoreology at the Department of Ethnomusicology of the Faculty of Music.
