Vanja Kevrešan

Assistant professor of Jazz guitar

Vanja Kevresan is a Serbian Jazz Guitarist/Composer currently residing in Berlin, Germany. According to the Ministry of Culture and Science / Jazz Press Germany, Vanja is considered one of the most accomplished jazz guitarists of today’s European jazz scene.

In 1996 he founded his guitar trio VANJA K3 and in 2009 his group TRIP TONES, featuring: David Binney, Dima Bondarev, Ben Kraef, Igor Osypov, Milan Nikolic, Jonathan Levy, Tom Berkmann, Andjelko Stupar, Viktor Palic, Greg Smith & Vega Jesus. Vanja is also co-leading the innovative and critically acclaimed group “SPACE TIGERS” with Grgur Savic since 2016.
Vanja Kevresan has played both as a leader, co-leader, & sideman with: Karl Ratzer Group, Fritz Pauer, Stjepko Gut, Jonathon Haffner, Ryan Carniaux, Logan Kane, Pirates Of After Particians, Unleashed Bop Force, Roberto Badoglio, Manuel Podhostnik, JR5+ featuring Miles Griffith, European East West Jazz Orchestra, and many more.

He graduated Jazz guitar from the prestigious University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria (2002). During His Studies Vanja was awarded with “KUG Begabten Stipendium” 2000, and. “Dr Karl Boehm Stipendium” 2002 from the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz, Austria.

Since 2012 Vanja is teaching Jazz Guitar & Jazz Improvisation at the FMU-Belgrade Music University, Jazz department. As a clinician Vanja has given Masterclasses nationally and internationally at Colleges, and Universities, as well as workshops such as: Art School Fortunat Pintaric Jazz Workshop, Jazz Summer Academy Novi Sad/ Dortmund/ Serbia, Artist in Residence at Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy – Dortmund/ Germany, and many more.
