Nataša Penezić, DMA
Nataša Penezić, DMA, was born in Novi Sad. She studied piano under the guidance of Svetlana Bogino at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Following a master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, in 2018 she defended her thesis regarding expression in modern piano music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
She performed as a soloist and in different chamber ensembles in European festivals such as Klangspuren Festival, IMPULS Graz, Ars Musica Brussels, Ghent Festival, Aarhus Festival, Aurora Festival, International Minimal Music Festival Kassel, Citta di Chioggia, Musica in Laguna, Glazbena tribina, Summer in Isola, as well as Serbian festivals Ring Ring, BUNT, Tribina kompozitora, NIMUS, Piano City Novi Sad, Palić Film Festival. She appeared as a soloist with the Russian КРЕДО Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Chioggia, as well as Serbian Ensemble SYNC and Muzikon chamber orchestra.
Dedicated almost exclusively to modern and contemporary music, she commissions and performs music of our time. Close collaborations include Frederic Rzewski, Sofia Gubaidulina, Gavin Bryars, Vladan Radovanović, Jasmina Mitrušić, Miša Savić, Ana Gnjatović and Đorđe Marković, many of whom have dedicated their compositions to her. She premiered over 100 pieces in Serbia and abroad. She is a member of Ensemble for Different New Music and a co-founder of a New Music Festival Patterns & Stitches.
She is the recipient of Swedish Music Academy Scholarship, Dartington International Summer School Bursary, Eurobank EFG Scholarship, Dositeja Scholarship and Nevena Popović Award.
