Ivana Dakić, MMus

Associate professor of Woodwind instruments – complementary courses

Ivana Dakić completed her studies at the “Kosta Manojlović” Music School in Belgrade and has won numerous first prizes at both republic and federal competitions. As the best participant at the federal competition in Slovenia, she represented Yugoslavia at an international competition in Geneva. During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of the Foundation for Young Talents.

She graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Professor Ljubiša Petruševski, where she also completed her master’s degree. As the best student of the wind instruments department, she was awarded the prestigious Bruno Bruni prize.

From 1991 to 1997, she was a member of the Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet of the National Theatre in Belgrade, holding the positions of solo English horn and second oboe. From 1997 to 2023, she served as principal oboist of the RTS Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed as a freelance principal oboist in the Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet of the National Theatre, the Belgrade Philharmonic (2015–2016), the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, and the Madalenaum Theatre.

She began her teaching career at the music schools “Davorin Jenko” and “Vladimir Đorđević”, and currently teaches at the Josif Marinković Music School and the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where since 2023 she has been docent for Methodology and Orchestral Studies for Woodwind Instruments. She is also a mentor at the chamber music summer camp at Ivanova Korita.

Active as a chamber musician, she is a member of Trio Femina, the Cirkle ensemble, the wind quintet Tramontana, and the duo Da Capo with flutist Stana Krstajić. Numerous contemporary Serbian composers have written compositions specifically for her ensembles, which she has premiered.

She is one of the founders of Oboe Fest, successfully held for eight years.She has collaborated with numerous institutions and performed at festivals, including the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade, Belgrade Philharmonic, festival Strefa Ciszy (Warsaw, 2021–2022), Kotor Art (2021), and Amici della Musica (Montegranaro, 2024). She has performed with leading musicians such as Francesco di Rossa (principal oboist of the Santa Cecilija Orchestra, Rome), Christoph Hartmann (Berlin Philharmonic), and Jean-Louis Capezzali (Conservatory of Lugano).
