Aleksandar Benčić, MMus

Professor in the artistic field of Trombone

Aleksandar Benčić was born at Ruma in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 1993 and defended a Master thesis in 1995 in the class of full professor Vinko Valečić. He is the winner of the prize of “Bruno Brun” foundation for the most successful postgraduate exam in the Department for brass instruments of the Faculty of Music for academic year 1994/95.

Aleksandar Benčić has worked as the assistant professor of trombone at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade since 1995, while he is appointed associate professor since 2006. He is the winner of the Acknowledgement of the Faculty of Music for achieved teaching and artistic results.
Aleksandar Benčić has been active as the soloist trombone player. He has played as a trombone soloist accompanied by Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television of Serbia, the St. George String Orchestra, the String Orchestra of Radio and Television of Montenegro, and other.

In the field of chamber music he performed with the Belgrade trombone quartet from 1996 to 1998, and from 2012 with tuba quartet “XL”. He has also been successful in trio with his colleagues M. Đorđević on trumpet and M. Radić on French horn, interpreting very serious and demanding works for the ensemble. He has often been active in various chamber orchestras (in the composers’ stands), interpreting works of modern music. He is professionally playing in a several orchestras.
Since 2004, he has actively participated in the formation of the trombone class in Montenegro (Tivat and Kotor) and has still been giving Master courses in full and spring semesters.
