Representatives of the Faculty of Music Arts on a visit to the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music
A delegation from the Faculty of Music Art at the University of Arts in Belgrade, consisting of the Dean, Slobodan Gerić, DMA, Full Professor; Vladimir Milošević, DMA, Full Professor; and Aleksandar Sinchuk, DMA, Associate Professor, visited the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in China at the invitation of their hosts, on the occasion of the 4th International Festival of Music and Dance.
During their multi-day visit, the delegation took part in a series of artistic and educational activities that brought together distinguished professors and performers from around the world. Dean Slobodan Gerić, DMA, participated in a panel discussion titled “Music and Music Education in the Age of Digitalization,” where he spoke about contemporary pedagogical approaches, the challenges that the digital era brings to arts education, and the importance of preserving authentic artistic expression within new media contexts.
Professors Vladimir Milošević and Aleksandar Sinchuk held piano masterclasses for students, while Dean Gerić led a double bass masterclass, which attracted great interest among young Chinese musicians. These workshops provided students with the opportunity to work with outstanding artists, improve their performance techniques, and receive valuable insights on interpretation and musical expression. The inspiring exchange of knowledge and experience between the Faculty of Music Art professors and the Conservatory students was one of the most valuable aspects of the visit.
As part of the festival, Professors Milošević and Sinchuk also gave a full-length concert, performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Suites No. 1 and No. 2 for Two Pianos. Their performance received standing ovations and was praised as one of the highlights of the festival, showcasing the exceptional interpretative synergy and artistic dialogue between the two pianists.
The visit was organized as a continuation of the successful cooperation between the Faculty of Music Art and the Zhejiang Conservatory, which continues to develop through artistic projects, student and teacher exchanges, and joint concert activities. This event further strengthened the friendly and professional ties between the two institutions, while the professors of the Faculty once again affirmed its international reputation and recognition on the global music scene.
The participation of our artists in this prestigious festival underscored the importance of international collaboration and opened new opportunities for future joint projects, as the Faculty of Music Art continues to build bridges between cultures through art and education.
