Ljiljana Nestorovska, MMus, harp professor and Vice-Rector of the University of Arts in Belgrade, completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade, in the class of Professor Milica Barić. She started working at „Mokranjac” Music School where she taught from 1986 until 1997 and continued her pedagogic work at the Faculty of Music where she works as a full time harp and chamber music professor. She was the Head of the Polyinstrumental Department for many years. Professor Nestorovska worked at the Music Academy University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Nestorovska has been an active pedagogue for more than 40 years.

In period 2015-2024 she held position of the Faculty of Music. During that period she led and coordinated numerous initiatives that significantly enhanced the academic, artistic, and international profile of the Faculty.

Nestorovska actively performs a soloist and chamber musician. She performed at numerous concerts and festivals in Serbia, region and abroad, including performances at the World Harp Congresses in Geneva, Vancouver, Sydney, and Hong Kong and at the international harp festivals in Rio de Janeiro and Saint Petersburg (“Northern Lyra”). She performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras and choirs such as such as the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic, Sarajevo Philharmonic, Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, Dušan Skovran String Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, Camerata Serbica, and Metamorphosis, among others.

A number of contemporary Serbian composers have dedicated works to her, which she actively performs, thereby promoting Serbian music on international stages.

Nestorovska is a jury member at national and international competitions and her students are winners of over 100 awards at national and international competitions. Almost all her students continued to work actively as harpists, either as orchestral or as pedagogues in music schools.

Her distinguished career has been recognized with numerous honors and awards, including the Grand Plaque (2024) and the Silver Medal of the University of Arts in Belgrade (2003), the Diploma for Artistic Contribution from the Association of Composers of Serbia, the Award of the Association of Music and Ballet Pedagogues of Serbia for outstanding pedagogical achievement, and several Certificates of Appreciation for Exceptional Contribution to the Development of the Faculty of Music (1999, 2013).
