Call for Teaching Staff and Associates of the Faculty of Music: Apply for the “Artist as Teacher” Training Programme within the IN.TUNE Alliance

The IN.TUNE Alliance invites teaching staff and associates to apply for the “Artist as Teacher” professional development programme, designed for teachers in higher music education at all stages of their teaching careers.

Application deadline: 20 June 2026

Venue: Royal Conservatoire The Hague (in-person sessions) and online.

Session dates: In-person sessions: 20–21 November 2026 and 23–24 April 2027, and Online sessions: 29 January, 5 February, and 5 March 2027 (10:00–12:00).

The programme consists of 10 sessions conducted in English and covers topics such as contemporary pedagogical approaches, sustainable artistic careers, assessment and feedback in teaching, as well as the foundations of learning in music education. Participants work in groups and engage in mutual lesson observations, autobiographical writing, and reflective assignments.

The course is led by Professors Gerda van Zelm and Renée Jonker from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, together with guest speakers from IN.TUNE partner institutions.

The application should include a CV and a short motivation letter in English.

Applications will be reviewed by a three-member selection committee consisting of the Institutional Alliance Manager, the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, and the Faculty representative within IN.TUNE Work Package 5.

Applicants will be informed of the committee’s decision by 26 June 2026. Selected candidates will then be required to complete the online application form by 30 June 2026 (see the attached document for further information).
