Dear colleagues,

We would like to inform you that the submission deadline has been extended to 1 May 2026 for the 16th Biennial International Conference on Music Theory and Analysis, titled Polyphony of Music Theory: Methodological Pluralism in Scholarship, which will be held at the University of Arts in Belgrade (Serbia), from 2 to 4 October 2026, in a hybrid format. The conference will feature plenary lectures by Thomas Christensen (USA), Sarah Marlowe (USA), and Peter Schubert (Canada).

We are pleased to invite all colleagues, scholars, researchers, musicians, doctoral students to participate in the 16th Biennial International Conference, “Music Theory and Analysis,” organized by the Department of Music Theory. The conference will be held October 2–4, 2026, in a hybrid format. The theme of this year’s conference is The Polyphony of Music Theory: Methodological Pluralism in Scholarship. We are especially honored to welcome the following leading international scholars in music theory as plenary speakers: Dr. Thomas Christensen (USA), Dr. Sarah Marlowe (USA), and Dr. Peter Schubert (Canada).

The 15th Biennial International Conference on Music Theory and Analysis, organized by the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, will take place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October 2024 at the University of Arts in Belgrade.

We welcome paper proposals on different aspects of musical narrativity, relating to music of any genre and historical period. The keynote speakers will be Joan Grimalt (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain), Michael Klein (Boyer College of Music and Dance, Philadelphia), and Michael Allis (School of Music, University of Leeds, UK).

The deadline for the proposals for the 14^th Biennial International Conference on Music Theory and Analysis „Interdisciplinarity of Music Theory: Knowledge of Music between History, Poetics, Theories and Criticism” has been extended to Wednesday, June 1st 2022.

The Department of Music Theory is pleased to announce that the 14^th International Conference Music Theory and Analysis, entitled Interdisciplinarity of Music Theory: Knowledge of Music Between History, Poetics, Theories and Criticism, will be held on 7-9 October 2022.

In the honor and memory of our respected colleague, composer and theoretician Mirjana Živković, professor at the Faculty of Music who passed away on April 26^th 2020, the Department of Music Theory organizes the roundtable “In honor of Professor Mirjana Živković: composition, music theory, pedagogy”.
The assembly will be held on May 15^th 2021 at 12 in the Great hall of the Faculty of Music.
We are hereby kindly inviting colleagues to take part in the meeting.
